During March, prototyping began. Building from the skills developed during the last project, I worked once more with Cam and Follower mechanisms. The intent was to create a Kinetic Sculpture of the endangered animal in question, so that it could be displayed.
Pictured above is one of the earliest concepts, however it had several glaring issues from the size of the rods, lack of room for a motor and insufficient Cam size. Future versions would begin to address these issues one by one.
During development there were various issues, such as tolerances not fitting parts, and being unable to fit components within the spaces. This was slowly addressed further with more variants over the course of the month.
